Canthan New Year Farming
Assuming the same items will be available in the same manner as years past: i've done a bit of math to figure out the cost of getting party points (+1 bottle rockets)...they cost 142g ea for materials [(parchment = 5 wood + 20g = 50g ea)+(2 wood = 12g)+(8 dust = 80g), so better to buy at 110-120gp per, i guess. Can do champagne poppers (+1 party) at 154g ea [(tempered glass vial = 5 dust + 20g = 70g ea)+(2 dust = 20g)+(8 plant fiber = 64g) as an alternative, but more expensive. After collecting some 25 stacks of wood and sitting on 2 stacks of parchment, I've realized this is not the most profitable way of doing this! lol I'm so sick of spamming wtb dust....
So, any other festival-related party/sweet farm ideas? Some guildies of mine have been farming all the feast items in preparation for the festival. Just wondering what/where you guys who are farming for the festival are up to, if you care to share..
Wonder if it might be faster just to do raptor farming for lunar tokens? Meh, I hate this game

Let's play math.
Assume 100 festival items (in this case, Lunar Tokens) drop per hour on a raptor/keg farm. That's a pretty typical festival rate.
That yields 20 gift bags per hour. You've got a 60% chance of pulling 3 items from a bag; 20*.6*3=36 party items per hour of time investment.
There's other stuff in the bags, too...but Lunar Token farming will be pretty meh compared to other event farms where the drops are the desired items rather than something you have to trade in. Figure it'll make farming 10k/hour or so more valuable than normal.

isnt there a series of quests that are easy to do that can get you over 100 tokens in about 30 mins?
i remember a bunch of us guildies all making new chars and getting 1 guild member to run the quests with a lvl 20, then once all the quests were done, another member would run the quests while everyone made a new set of chars
...something along those lines anyways. but i cant remember what goes on exactly for new years... maybe i'm thinking of the dragon festival

Used to be like that but last year, thanks to

kind guru member and/or other great persons who deserve the love all over the world
[ mega ironic mode off]
you will need to levelup till level 5 before doing those quests, because they say it could be exploitable (OMG! megatoken farming ¬¬).

Do tokens drop on each continent or just in Cantha? On wiki it says that they drop everywhere.

I also remember something about doing the Dragon Nest Boardwalk game late at night in an empty district. You win every time because there's no one there to go against you. At least I think that's the game I was thinking about.

Nice maths but you forgot something -
material farmers dont buy materials - we farm them.
the stacks of wood etc have no real cost for us except cost of salvage kits an thats minimal.
If you want materials then cheapest way is to hm farm and or use m4m mods.
i`ll be using my stockpile of stuff to make rockets as well as event drop farming to make my money

1.000 Bottle Rockets without too much effort FTW.
I just saved up on the drops, now I only have to click Nubah Lao 1.000 times.

Oh...my..god... you are right. Slight miscalculation there .
Ah well, 750 rockets is still alot.
UW is a nice place to farm for dust, and the wood is from salvaged weapons. Parchment is crafted by artisans from wood.
Hmm...still a few days left to farm me 8 stacks of dust

Last year, the tokens were missing the "no lootscaling" flag that other event drops have so unless that fix that this year, the story is even worse.
Best way is just to run through the quest line with your characters and mules, at 20mins/toon thats a good 2-4 hours worth of farming.

If I want Dust I head to FoW. Dark Remains salvages into 15 piles on average, and Dark Remains drop all the time. Can easily walk out with a couple stacks if you do a clear and grab all the stuff other people ignore.

Naga Hide farming (for Canthan New Year)
Naga Hide farming for the Celestial Feast.. I have to agree that it isn't the most useful farming method, but.. at least it is something to do when you have nothing better ^^

where is a good spot to farm wood though i am not going to pick up 100's of weapons to get wood
oh and yea either the spot is crap or i am unbelievably unlucky cause i cleared entire thing and kill upwards around 30-40 fog nightmares and even killed the special dude and the best i got was 200 gold and an idol not a speck of dust or anything useful -.-
2nd run i got 2 shadow remains or whatever and they salvaged for 6 dust wow 6 dust is alot for that run -.-
